Characteristics of Particles of Matter

Introduction

Matter is anything which occupies space and has mass is called matter. Air and water, sugar and sand, hydrogen and oxygen etc... Matter is made up of very small tiny particles. Particles of matter have space between them they attract each other.

All matter has mass and occupies space. All physical objects are made up of matter. Matter itself is composed of tiny building blocks known as particles or atom. The particles of matter are continuously moving. The particles of matter attract each other. particles of matter are very tiny in size which can exist independently.

Particles of matter have space between them All matter is made up of particles called atoms and molecules, the space between molecules is calles=d intermolecular space. This is because the salt or sugar particles get in between water particles into the interparticle spaces. It shows that there are spaces between a substance's particles If more salt or sugar is added,it will dissolve until all space is occupied between the water particles

It's true, particles of matter continuously in a random manner. They move because they possess kinetic energy. The kinetic energy increases or decreases with increase or decrease in temperature.Add a small amount of red link in a glass full of water. The red ink slowly mixes with water and finally the colour of the water become red.
